The "Hire Me Out" project took place in Los Angeles and on campus at the California Institute of the Arts from 1999 till the end of 2000. It was a time based conceptual art performance project that used a situational approach to examine the artist "labor" as a form of "artwork" and brought into question the role of the artist as Author.

Launch gallery: Sam Durant
In 2000 I was hired out by Sam Durant to build him a crate to transport his artwork to the Blum & Poe art gallery in Los Angeles. I was hired out to measure and cut wood, hit nails, use wood glue, fire a nail gun into wood at a 90 degree angle, and clean up with an air gun.
In December of 1999 I was asked by Martin Kersels to help him and his partner with a photo shoot in preparation for his show at the J. Paul Getty Musuem. I was hired out to help with crash pad safety, photographic composition, and maintain the sculptural integrity of the fake Greek Kouros and Martin as long as possible.
In 2000 I was hired out by Jesse Proksa to massage her body. I was hired out to rub her face, neck, shoulders, lower back and legs with oil in order to relieve tension in her body.
